12/2023: MCSC To Offer a Winter Speed & Agility Program

With Guest Coach Kat Bering

The Mason City Soccer Club is bringing in one of the most decorated soccer coaches in the state to run a Speed & Agility program this winter. Along side our regular Winter Skills Sessions, the S&A program has been specifically designed by Kat herself to target the following areas of each athlete:

Improve Coordination & Balance
Gain Flexibility
Improve Movement Skills & Body Awareness
Faster Recovery Time

The goal of this program is to create injury prevention and maximum performance!

Coach Kat has years of experience; she is the Former University of Northern Iowa Women's soccer coach, she has 30 years coaching experience across many disciplines, has successfully implemented these programs at both the youth and adult training level, and much more. Read Kat's bio below:

Playing Experience: Played College Soccer and Basketball. Placing 1st and 2nd in Ontario Colleges & 4th and 5th in Canadian Nationals, respectively. Invited & participated in Olympic trials for Greek National Women's Soccer team for the 2004 Olympics.

Coaching Experience: 30 years experience coaching multiple sports at various age groups. Experience in track & field, basketball, swimming and soccer. Previous Director of Coaching for DynoMites Academy - Co-developed DynoMites Academy. Coached Soccer in Germany for 2 years.

Personal Bio: My passion is to help others reach their potential! I have been actively involved in soccer in Iowa since arriving in 1999. Being directly involved with expanding opportunities to our youngest athletes (Dyno academy CoFounder/Director-U6) up to our Adult participants (Adult league CoFounder CV), has given me great joy.

I received a Bachelor of Health Sciences and I also hold a Recreation and Leisure Services Diploma. I reside in Dike, IA with my Husband Chris, children Ana & Anthony and multiple pets & farm animals.
